How The Federal Register Affects You

What is the Federal Register?

The Federal Register is the Daily Journal of the United States Government.

It is the legal record for proposed regulations, executive documents (executive orders, proclamations, etc.) public notices, and administrative regulations.  The Federal Register is the place where the public can view changes that may affect your future and submit comments on some proposed regulations.

The current,  Wednesday, September 24, 2025, issue of the Federal Register consists of the following:

The three Presidential Documents recorded consisted of one notice, one proclamation and one Executive Order as follows:

The title of the Executive Order “The Gold Card” caught my eye so I checked into it further.  President Trump’s distaste for immigrants apparently does not apply to wealthy immigrants.  This particular Executive Order sets up procedures for allowing aliens into the country if they are able to pay  the million dollar entrance fee.

Instead of being called what it is, it is being referred to in the EO as a “voluntary financial gift to the Nation”.  That’s the cost for an individual.  Should a corporation or similar entity choose to buy entrance into our country, on behalf of a particular individual, the voluntary financial gift to the Nation doubles to two million dollars.

This approach to the United States immigration problem seems a bit hypocritical, but when a country is running a current account deficit of -251.3 billion dollars [Q2 2025] anything goes.
