This is what I think is typical of the media and columnists today. You can include Margaret Carlson in the group, too. She’s the one who thought it was more fun to poke fun at Al Gore than it was to point out to people just what kind of person they were getting in George Bush in 2000. Was there a problem in poking fun at Bush?
Then after 9-11, they all got in bed with Bush and Cheney. Even today, Maureen Dowd thinks what she is writing about Al Gore is right on the mark. What I think it comes down to a very simple thing — they are all incredibly intimidated. The only one with balls — all male media members included — is an 80-year-old woman, Helen Thomas. It’s time for the media to get out of bed and go to work.
