You keep hearing that phrase, "How the Right Went Wrong" They started out that way. They’ve always been that way. It’s just taken an incredibly long time for the media to understand that Ronald Reagan was all about tax-cuts for the rich and Big Bidness and Iran-Contra. People just believed those dumb TV spots — It’s Morning Again in America.
Where? The spillage and the spoilage from Reagan just slopped over on Bush 1, who had to raise the taxes that Reagan cut and issued the pardons — Weinberger and Poindexter — to those involved in Iran-Contra.
But in his heart, said Reagan, he knew he was right. How could you tell? The poor man was suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. Who knows for how long?
