Is it possible that we could still end up with a Republican white male elected in 2008? I think they’re going to go with Rudy Giuliani, who is far ahead of John McCain now and I don’t see anybody who will get ahead of Giuliani. People don’t know things like the firemen and the police couldn’t communicate with each other on 9-11, which caused needless loss of life. Who’s going to tell people about his background? The guy he was recommending for National Security had connections with the mob and the Mafia.
Just watch the right-wingers suck it up and decide Rudy is their only prayer. Some people even say the South might secede if Obama is elected. What I want to know is, is this a reason for voting for or against him? If that is true, why are the Repugnants doing so well in the South? If two-thirds of it is non-white, why do the people vote overwhelmingly for the Repugnant ticket? Why don’t the Democrats carry a single state in the South?

Chuck Hagel is going to make his announcement Monday I think I heard today. I believe he is going to run and take away any chance that McCain might have had, which is all to the good as far as I’m concerned. That just leaves Rudy unless you count Romney, Brownback and Gingrich.
I definitely think Hagel is going to run. McCain is fading fast, and the media has not yet caught up with Rudy who is not as strong as his current numbers indicate. Hagel could get conservative backing, plus he would run well against Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton. If Hagel ends up as the Republican candidate running against Hillary, what does that do to the Democratic Party?
